Information on liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGS) 

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1. Quantity Limits for Cabin Baggage

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2. Exemptions

\r\n\r\n

Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) that are exempt from the quantity restrictions may be carried in quantities appropriate for the duration of the journey on each flight. Passengers must present such LAGs to security screening officers at the security screening checkpoint for inspection. These include:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

3. Duty Free

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Recommendation: During the journey, passengers are advised to check with the Duty Free Shop where the items were purchased regarding the applicable LAG regulations at the destination airport and at any airport where they will transfer or transit.

\r\n\r\n

Notice to Transit/Transfer Passengers: Duty-Free Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs)

\r\n\r\n

If you have purchased duty-free LAGs exceeding 100ml, they must be kept in a sealed, tamper-evident plastic bag with no signs of being opened after purchase.

\r\n\r\n

• You may carry these items onto your connecting flight only if you remain within the security restricted area.

\r\n\r\n

• If you leave the restricted area to check in for a new flight, your duty-free exemption will no longer apply. Any duty-free Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) exceeding 100 millilitres will NOT be permitted through the security screening checkpoint. ACTION REQUIRED: Please ensure all LAGs exceeding 100ml are packed in your CHECKED BAGGAGE.

Plant Quarantine Import Requirements

It is illegal to bring many types of fruits, vegetables, plants and plant products into Thailand without approval from the Department of Agriculture. Most fresh fruits and vegetables are restricted entry because they may carry various exotic plant pest and diseases. Without proper pre-shipment treatment and/or certification, they will be confiscated and destroyed in accordance with the plant Quarantine Act of Thailand. Passengers traveling on international flights should aware of Thailand’s plant quarantine requirements when you enter Thailand.

1. Document Preparation and Online Submission

1.2 Required Documents:

1.2.1 Declaration for Import of Prohibited, and Unprohibited Articles (Form P.Q.5)

4.1 Visual Inspection: At the Plant Quarantine Station or laboratory to ensure that imported items meet all requirements.

4.2.1 If pests are found: Determine if they are Quarantine Pests and take necessary action based on regulatory requirements.

4.2.2 If pests cannot be eradicated: The shipment will be either returned or destroyed as required.

The importation of shipments and parcels into Thailand can be divided into two type

Importation by Post

The Customs procedure for goods arriving in Thailand by post

\r\n\r\n

The goods arriving in Thailand by post are classified into three types: 

\r\n\r\n

Category 1 Goods exempted from duty, which is goods imported by post and has Custom value, including freight and insurance charges, of no more than 1,500 baht or samples with no commercial value, which will be used for exhibition only and are not prohibited or restricted goods. For this category of goods, they will be handed over to Thailand Co., Ltd. to distribute to recipients. 
\r\nCategory 2 Goods liable for duty, which are goods imported by international post. This type of goods is sent from a sender/consignor to a recipient/consignee at the same time, with its FOB value not exceeding 40,000 baht, regardless of its number of packages. The goods under this category must not be prohibited or restricted goods, or goods requiring sample analysis before release. For this type of goods, Customs officers calculate its Customs value as well as duty and taxes before handing it to Thailand Post Co., Ltd., which is responsible for distributing the goods to the recipient and collecting duty and taxes on behalf of the Thai Customs Department. In this case, the recipient will receive a notification instructing how and where to collect the goods and pay for such duty and taxes.  

\r\n\r\n

The recipients/consignees wishing to object to Customs valuation or request duty and tax exemption are required to follow the steps below:  

\r\n\r\n

  1. \r\n\t

    The consignee complete and submit Request Form (available at post offices and www.postalcustoms.com) along with the notification and relevant documents such as evidences for purchase and receipts to the designated post office. Duty and tax payment is not required at this stage.

    \r\n\t
  1. \r\n\t

    The post office hands over the parcel and all documents received to Customs

    Customs Service Division responsible for post informs the result of consideration to the relevant post office so that it could inform the consignee accordingly. The consignee may decide on one of the following options:

Category 3 Other goods not classified under Category 1 and Category 2. This type of goods is handed over to be stored at Thailand Post Co., Ltd. or Customs Bureau/Customs House, depending on each case. The consignee will receive a notification instructing him/her to pick up the goods/make payment for duty and taxes Postal Customs Service Division or a designated Customs Bureau/Customs House 
\r\nCustoms Formalities for the goods under Category 3 can be classified into 2 types:

    Goods whose FOB value is above 40,000 baht: The consignee has to prepare and submit import declaration electronically to the Thai Customs Electronic System. The goods, regardless of its total number of packages, which are sent from a sender to a recipient or arrive at the same time, and have total FOB value exceeding 40,000 baht, require import declaration submission

    Goods whose FOB value is less than 40,000 baht: The consignee is not required to prepare and submit import declaration electronically. Customs will calculate Customs value as well as duty and taxes at the same Customs office.

Household Effects includes other goods than the personal effects, which are brought with the passengers in or out of the country. To be eligible for duty exemption, the importers are required to have owned, possessed, and used the household effects before they return to Thailand to resume residence and the quantity of the household effects is required to be reasonable. Examples of the household effects include televisions, refrigerators, air-conditioners, etc.

 Criteria for Used Household Effects Duty Exemption 

\r\n\r\n
    \r\n\t
  1. \r\n\t

    Both Thai and non-Thai residents changing residence into Thailand are eligible to bring used/secondhand household effects into Thailand, in reasonable quantities, free of taxes and duties.  It is also required that the imported used/ secondhand household effects have been owned, possessed, and used in the country where the importers resided before returning to Thailand to resume residence. In case where the household effects are electrical appliances e.g. radios, televisions, refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, air conditioners, etc., only ONE unit each of such items is eligible for tax and duty free allowance. However, if it is the family change of residence, TWO units each of the items will be allowed to bring in tax and duty free. Any excess unit shall be subject to regular taxes and duties, and Customs will place the items that have the lowest rate of duty under tax and duty exemption. It is important that the used/secondhand household effects must be imported not earlier than one month before or not later than six months after the arrival of the importers. Under exceptional circumstances, Customs may extend the time limits for the importers.

\r\nBringing corpses or human ash into Thailand does not require submitting an Import Declaration Form or Special Declaration Form. The Customs procedure involved is listed below:

    Importers present the following documents to Customs officers: 

    \r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t
    2. \r\n\t
  2. \r\n\t

    Customs officers release the corpses and human ash (and keep record of the release) with the importer signing in the pick-up document.

Bringing corpses/human ash out of Thailand 

\r\n\r\n

To facilitate the customs clearance process for the export of remains or ashes, the relatives/exporter must prepare the necessary documents to present to customs officials. It is not required to prepare an export declaration form.

    \r\n\t
  1. The exporter must present original documents and two copies of each as follows:\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t
    2. \r\n\t
  2. The exporter must submit the documents mentioned in item 1 to the customs officer at the customs service unit at the release port to account for the goods in the air transportation bill and proceed with the clearance.
    3. \r\n\t
  3. The exporter must record the details of the remains/ashes in the customs control registration ledger.
    4. \r\n
